Overview

Kathmandu valley, Namobuddha and Lumbini tour will let you visit the three significant and holy spots of Buddhists. Firstly, you will go around Swayambhunath, White Gumba and Kapan Gumba in Kathmandu. Swayambhunath Stupa also known as monkey temple is one of the world's most wonderful Buddhist Chaityas. This almost 2000 year stupa has the Lord Buddha’s eyes painted on all four sides of the monument. Similarly you will visit White Gumba located in the periphery of the Kathmandu Valley. White Gumba is also known as Amitabh Mountain which is the Buddhist nunnery and is rich in Tibetan statue, culture, paintings and more. And it is the perfect viewpoint for the wonderful views of Kathmandu Valley. And then you will visit Kopan Monastery which was founded by Lama Zopa Rimpoche and Lama Yeshe in 1970 as a point of Buddhist Teachings.

Similarly you will go around Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha which falls on the western region of Terai of Nepal. The city is popular as the place of sacred pilgrimage. Also, Lumbini is enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 AD. Similarly, here you can visit a variety of Buddhist monasteries like- Chinese, Thai, Nepalese, etc. Moreover, we can also observe the holy pond Puskarni falling at the south of the Pillar and it is believed that Queen Mayadevi took a bath there just prior to giving birth to the Lord Buddha.

Moreover, you will visit Namobuddha. Tibetans refer the temple as Tag-mo Lu-jin. Here, you will also visit other few monasteries and one very old stupa raised nearby where people make offerings, prayers, and light butter lamps.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival - Kathmandu (Swayambhunath, White Gumba, Kapan Gumba)

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, our airport representative of Peaceful Himalaya Trekking will welcome you at the airport. And you will be transferred to the hotel. After having rest for some time, you will visit Swayambhunath Stupa is also known as monkey temple. Swayambhunath is one of the world's most wonderful Buddhist Chaityas. Then, you will visit White Gumba located in the periphery of the Kathmandu Valley. White Gumba, a Buddhist nunnery is rich in Tibetan statue, culture, paintings and more. Also, you will visit Kapan Monastery. After our visit, we will return back to the hotel and overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu - Lumbini

Today after having our breakfast we will drive to Lumbini from Kathmandu. And then you have a half day sightseeing program. You can visit the Mayadevi temple lying to the west, the Ashoka Pillar which was raised by Emperor Ashoka in 249 BC as an indication of admiration to his trip to the holy site. Moreover, we can also observe the holy pond Puskarni falling at the south of the Pillar and it is believed that Queen Mayadevi took a bath there just prior to giving birth to the Lord Buddha. Similarly, you may also go around archeological and religious places of Tilaurakot, Kudan, Gotihawa, Niglihara, Siddharthanagar, Sagarhawam Aurorakot.

Day 03: Lumbini - Kathmandu

We will visit the Mayadevi temple early in the morning. And then transfer to the Domestic airport in Lumbini for the flight back to Kathmandu. And then we will return to the hotel. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 04: Kathmandu - Pharping - Namobuddha

We will today go for a visit to Guru Rinpoche cave. Actually, there are 2 caves in Pharping - Asura Cave and Yangleshö. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche meditated in both of the caves. Then we will visit Namobuddha. Tibetans refer the temple as Tag-mo Lu-jin. It is believed that here Lord Buddha offered his body to the starving mother tigress so that she could give food to her cubs. Here, you will also visit other few monasteries and one very old stupa raised nearby where people make offerings, prayers, and light butter lamps. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 05: Departure

Our airport representative will take you to the airport for your way back your country.
